About INFLUVAC TETRA 2025
INFLUVAC TETRA 2025 is an inactivated influenza vaccine (surface antigen) I.P. (Quadrivalent) that provides protection against four influenza strains prevalent in 2025.
This quadrivalent vaccine is specifically formulated to protect against the most common and severe strains of influenza expected this season, providing broader protection than traditional trivalent vaccines.
The vaccine is administered as a 0.5 ml syringe suspension for injection and is manufactured by Abbott India Limited, a trusted name in pharmaceuticals.
How It Works
The vaccine stimulates your immune system to produce antibodies against four specific influenza virus strains. These antibodies help your body recognize and fight off these viruses if you're exposed to them, preventing infection or reducing its severity.
Common Side Effects
- • Mild soreness at injection site
- • Low-grade fever
- • Mild muscle aches
- • Fatigue (usually resolving within 1-2 days)

Indian Chest Association Recommendation
The Indian Chest Association recommends annual flu vaccination, especially for adults over 50, those with chronic conditions, and individuals who care for vulnerable populations.
Why Vaccination Is Crucial After 40
As we age, our immune system naturally becomes less efficient at fighting off infections

Declining Immune Response
After age 40, your immune system's efficiency begins to decline, making you more susceptible to infections like influenza.
Increased Complication Risk
Middle-aged and older adults face higher risks of flu-related complications, including pneumonia and hospitalization.
Pre-existing Conditions
Many adults develop chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease, or respiratory issues by middle age, which can be severely exacerbated by influenza.
Family Protection
Getting vaccinated helps protect not just yourself but also vulnerable family members like children and elderly parents who may be at higher risk.

Effective Prevention
Vaccination is the most effective preventive strategy against flu-related complications and deaths, recommended by the Indian Chest Association.
Virus Evolution

Who Should Get Vaccinated?
Adults over 50, people with chronic diseases, pregnant women, healthcare workers, and travelers to flu-prone regions should prioritize vaccination.
Indian Chest Association Recommendation
