In the days when India was finding its voice as a nation, a brilliant young doctor from rural Bihar named Sharda Prasad Singh made a choice that would echo through generations. Despite offers to practice medicine abroad, as was the dream of the best and brightest in those days, he looked at the faces of those in Bihar and chose to stay and serve his people. "This is where I'm needed most," he decided, beginning a legacy of compassionate care that continues today.
Dr. Sharda didn't just treat patients; he became part of their lives, travelling to then remote places like Jamtara and Sasaram where medical care was often just a distant hope to deliver healthcare with dignity - affordable, accessible, and deeply human. Even when he was chosen to serve as the Civil Surgeon of Nalanda, he carried within himself the belief that everyone deserves quality healthcare, regardless of their circumstances; and this belief, apart from treating lives, has touched generations of families under his care. In the eyes of very patient, he saw a person, not just a condition to treat or capitalise upon.
This profound commitment and distinct medical values passed on to his son-in-law, Dr. Subhash Prasad Singh, who carried this torch through his own distinguished career. Walking the dusty roads of rural Bihar, Dr. Subhash brought the same dedication to communities where medical resources were scarce but human need was abundant. His hands healed, but it was his presence - his willingness to listen and truly understand the anguish of each patient - that mattered the most.
First Generation
Dr. Sharda Prasad Singh chose to serve in rural Bihar, rising to become Civil Surgeon of Nalanda while maintaining his commitment to compassionate care.
Second Generation
Dr. Subhash Prasad Singh continued the legacy, bringing medical care to communities where resources were scarce but human need was abundant.
Third Generation
Dr. Prateek Shujanya now carries forward this tradition, combining medical expertise with the same compassionate approach.
Today, at Dr. Sharda's Family Health Clinics in Indirapuram, Dr. Prateek Shujanya, Dr. Sharda's grandson, continues this family mission. The setting may have changed from rural Bihar to urban Ghaziabad, but the heart of our practice remains the same - providing quality healthcare that honours both medical science and human dignity.
